The postdoctoral position in the area ofWireless Communications at the Smart Communications and Analysis Lab (SCAL) andUrban Science and Technology (Urban S&T) Program at the University ofTennessee Chattanooga (UTC) will be responsible for research in advancedcommunication and smart cities by bringing fresh ideas and being mostlyresponsible for research. SCAL and the Urban S&T Programs are closelyaffiliated with the UTC SimCenter, a key interdisciplinary R&D center oncampus where the scholar will be housed and mentored. SimCenter is a leadingmodeling, computation, and simulation center on campus. Novel and excitingresearch projects in the areas of Transportation, Health, and Energy are beingconducted in our laboratory that are funded by federal agencies (NSF and NIH),the state of Tennessee, and by industry. The successful postdoctoral scholarwill have the opportunity to contribute to and advance these projects inreal-world settings through our close collaboration with the Chattanoogasmart-city community.
Candidates will investigate fundamentals,algorithm design and evaluation for advanced wireless communications. We strongly encourage candidateswho have already shown exceptional early career promise and whose work willcontribute to one or more of these research areas: 5G, Wireless Networks, Content-centric Networking, Mobile EdgeComputing, Cognitive Radio, and Cooperative Communications. Contributing to the ongoing projects inthe areas mentioned above
Writing papers and technical reports inthe areas mentioned above
Helping with identifying fundingresources and contributing to proposal preparation
Supervising graduate and undergraduatestudents in Dr. Sartipi's research group. Dr. Sartipi will also supervise thestudents.
