The College of Engineering and Computing at the University of South Carolina is in the process of expanding its tenured and tenure-track faculty members. As part of this growth, the Department of Electrical Engineering seeks dynamic new tenured and tenure-track faculty members (at all ranks) for Fall 2018. In alignment with these initiatives, research themes of particular interest to the Department are those related to:
Energy & Water [ac & dc microgrids, smart grids, power electronics, wide- and ultra-wide bandgap materials & devices]
Smart & Connected Communities [Wireless systems, 5G cellular, terahertz technologies, mm-wave high power amplifiers, device-to-device wireless, sensors, digital signal processing, air traffic management navigation & surveillance, massive MIMO and multi-antenna systems, Internet of Things]
To build on our existing nationally-recognized programs, research areas of interest include photonics & micro- or nano-electronics, power electronics & energy systems, wireless communications, and safety critical systems.

Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering or a closely-related field, a demonstrated record of research accomplishments, and an outstanding capacity for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. The successful candidate will be expected to develop internationally-recognized, externally-funded research programs that complement existing departmental strengths.
