Summary: Develop and implement effective communications program, including outreach to existing consumer database and potential advocates, social media, earned media initiatives, and successfully manage grassroots, grasstops and third party relationships.General Communications
Work in conjunction with other Director of External Affairs and VP of State and External Affairs on all aspects of coordinating, organizing, executing and reporting of pro-business and pro-consumer messaging, whether inside the Beltway, in states and municipalities, or in specifically targeted Congressional Districts as legislative and regulatory issues arise throughout the year.
Compile information for distribution to members, coalition partners and other interested constituencies on wireless issues.
Draft, proofread, fact-check and distribute all printed materials with Advocacy team.
Supervise relevant communications work conducted by communications consultants, and collaborate with other Director, External Affairs to develop central messages and advocacy advertising. Grasstops/Third Party Relations
Work with third parties to ensure that they are educated on CTIA’s issues.
Proactively pitch ideas to third party partners on how best to support CTIA’s positions.
Coordinate closely with federal and state affairs to ensure that messaging is consistent and outreach is coordinated.
Produce content for Third Party Advocacy newsletter, database communications, and Third Party packet materials.Intergovernmental Relations
Establish and maintain strong relationships with legislative and regulatory groups.
Provide industry fact sheets IGs in support of industry initiatives
Identify opportunities for Association and member companies to participate in briefings, panels and roundtables throughout the year.Social Media Communications
Supervise department’s social media effort by supporting content development, helping establish relevant relationships, and exploring new avenues to enhance and grow online activist community.
Help maintain accurate information and fairly portrayed consumer-specific and industry-driven wireless issue information to the online public via these social and online forums.
Leverage existing consumer database to expand social media presence

College degree required, 2-3 years experience in Public Policy or Media Relations required. Experience with grasstops/third party relationships essential. Supervisory experience required.
Detail-oriented with knowledge of grammar and punctuation. Proficiency in proofreading skills and strong communications skills, both oral and written, are required.Physical Demands
