This includes but is not limited to servers, workstations, bar code scanners, printers, document scanners, and wireless communication devices. The ITIS Department also maintains multiple labs located across various buildings and VLANs and over 150 public access terminals. Location: Davis Allow Applicants to Attach: Resume Cover Letter References Job Summary: Under direction of the Workstation Support Manager, provide 1st and 2nd tier technical support for UCD Library staff and patrons. Provide technical support for Windows and Macintosh OS computer systems, including applications software and operating systems. Use the library ticketing system to log requests and generate reports. Perform help desk operations and routine computer and peripheral maintenance issues as needed. Assist with management of the library VDI environment and deployment/management of the BigFix Tivoli security application. Provide web content management for library websites using a Content Management Systems (CMS) such as WordPress. Assist staff, faculty, and students with day-to-day operations, including computer configurations, system updates, system deployment, license tracking, active directory user management and group policy management (GPO). Physical Demands: Work at computer for extended periods of time (6-8 hours per day). Lift and transport computer equipment in excess of 40 lbs, and transport loads of equipment in excess of 300 lbs. Move/manipulate supplies and equipment of various weights (up to 40 lbs.) Work Environment: Maintain a work schedule during core business hours (working hours will vary from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday) with occasional irregular shifts, weekends, holidays and evenings on short notice to meet operational needs. Work in an open office environment with multiple interruptions. Limit vacation usage during peak workload periods. Travel to off-campus locations occasionally. Background Check Required: Yes Minimum Qualifications: Experience with configuration, installation, and testing of Virtual Desktop environment clients. Experience providing advanced technical support Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Office 365. Experience using Windows and Macintosh scripting languages to perform update automation and various system administration tasks. Experience working independently and in a team environment, to provide technical support and consulting services to clients. Experience using interpersonal, customer service and communication skills to provide technical support and consulting services to clients via telephone, email, and in-person; to communicate verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical users in a clear and concise manner; and to work effectively with clients of varying backgrounds and levels of technical understanding. Experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting printers and other peripherals on Windows and Macintosh OS computers. Experience using and supporting web content management systems such as WordPress, Drupal or Cascade. Experience with Web development tools such as HTML, JavaScript, PHP, CSS. ___________________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications: Experience providing technical support for middleware services, e.g., distributed web authentication, LDAP, computing account management, and other similar technologies. Experience with endpoint management tools such as BigFix, SCCM or major centralized Anti-Virus/Malware software. Knowledge of the UC Davis network and services infrastructure and Cyber-Safety policy. Experience with electronic card key systems. Experience supporting daily operations of an instructional computing facility. Experience with Group Policy Management (GPMC). Experience with Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC). Skills creating documentation, and supplemental training material across multiple mediums (digital and written).
