IT Facilities Auxiliary Services is comprised of a team of 19 staff supporting 23 different Technologies 24x7x365 throughout the Medical Center Campus as well as offsite Primary Care Network Clinics. We support a combination of Life Safety Critical Technologies in addition to Physical Security, Patient Entertainment and Communications Technologies.

Responsibilities The Information Systems Supervisor 2 reports to the IT Facilities Auxiliary Services Manager and provides supervision and direction of professional skilled technical employees under Auxiliary Services. This position provides advanced level architecture, engineering, design and support of Vocera Communications Technology, cellular pocket pagers, paging technology, RFID tags, RFID application support, Secure Text Messaging application support and ongoing maintenance, repair, and replacement of such technologies. In addition, the position will provide advanced level server and application support for other Auxiliary Services technologies to include but not limited to Cardkey, Surveillance, Telesitter Cameras, Infant Abduction, Patient Education & Nurse Call. This position will be responsible for resolving daily trouble tickets and new service requests; providing technical analysis and advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve highly complex issues. This position collaborates and communicates with operational, clinical, and other innovation technology departments regarding existing and proposed information technology needs.
Required Qualifications Applicants are encouraged to upload license and certification if required of the position.
- 3+ years' experience managing staff. Has solid interpersonal and management skills.
- 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in the selection, installation, support and usage of computer applications and Windows Server-based software or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years system administration computer environment including hardware, operating system software and application software.
- 3+ years' experience with network system hardware including Routers, Bridges, Switches, Gateways and Hubs; network operating systems including Microsoft Windows Server 2012 & 16 and/or LINUX; fundamentals of the system development life cycles.
- 3+ years' experience concepts techniques for data modeling and administration; concepts of network protocols including TCP/IP, NetBIOS/NetBEUI and topologies including Ethernet; practices of software/hardware troubleshooting tools such as sniffers, RMON, flukes, and SNMP; concepts of relational and network data base management.
- 3+ years' experience around infrastructure and clinical application support listed, application development, testing, and cloud native developments.
- Demonstrated advanced level of knowledge and experience with respect to technologies appropriate to the healthcare, research and education industry.
- Advanced level problem resolution skills to solve highly complex issues, quickly diagnose problems and develop, test and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Advanced ability to serve as a technical leader and information resource and to work collaboratively with key personnel and management, providing guidance and recommendations on systems, improvements, upgrades and industry advances and trends.
- Advanced knowledge of IT Security best practices and policies to ensure compliance with UCDH polices. Demonstrated skill to secure and harden the operating systems, hardware, software and data of support technologies.
- Advanced analytical skills required to effectively understand complex networks; to manage administrative, clinical and fiscal information; and to comprehend such information to make timely and correct decisions. Expertise in documentation and reporting with the ability to apply metrics, plan and implement testing systems, collect and analyze performance data and produce substantive reports and analyses for management use.
- Excellent planning skills to analyze goals and objectives given the current and potential projects under development; to make accurate short-and long-term projections; to establish needs and resource requirements.
- Extensive Experience troubleshooting and configuring wired and wireless communication equipment and related computer equipment, including application and operating systems software.
Preferred Qualifications - 3+ years' experience installing configure and maintain servers in a VMware environment including monitoring of system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- 2+ years of experience in Python programming, batch scripting, bash scripts
- PowerShell familiarity and execution
- 2+ years of experience in Software testing, debugging, setting up of various OS platforms(Windows, Linux, OSX)
