POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, MAGNETOELECTRICS , Media Lab/Program in Media Arts and Sciences-Nano-Cybernetic Biotrek , to create nanoscale magnetoelectric materials (thin films (< 1um thick) or nanoparticles); design and develop new magnetoelectric devices for diverse applications such as energy harvesters, sensors, biomedical devices, actuators, resonators, antenna, memory, spintronics, transistors etc.; perform material characterization; fabricate the devices using cleanroom facilities and perform device characterization; and perform multi-physics simulations to optimize the device.
REQUIRED : a Ph.D. in materials science, electrical/electronics engineering, physics, bio/mechanical/chemical engineering, or another relevant field; background in magnetism, electromagnetism, magnetoelectric effect, spintronics, and multiferroics; experience with magnetostrictive and/or piezoelectric and/or multiferroic materials thin films or nanoparticles; experience with voltage, strain, and magnetoelectric measurement setups; and experience with multi-physics simulations. PREFERRED : experience with nanofabrication and sensor development; experience with antennae development or microwave engineering or wireless communication; and background in solid-state physics and electronic devices.
