What you will do: • Assist in improving Lucas’s hardware evaluation and certification processes to insure 3rd party hardware (mobile devices, headsets, barcode scanners, smart watches, smart glasses, etc.) included with Lucas solutions performs as required. • As required, lead or assist Lucas’ Customer Support Team in investigating/troubleshooting when hardware issues are reported from the field. • Research state-of-the-art hardware and technologies which can be leveraged in Lucas solutions, and develop proof-of-concepts and business cases around them. • Handle internal and external questions about Lucas’ hardware options. • Identify and resolve hardware issues with laptops, servers, printers, wireless accessories, smartphones, tablets and rugged handheld devices. • Assist in the creation and ongoing updates of Lucas’s product and R&D roadmaps. • Develop and maintain hardware-related documentation, such as certification procedures and records, user guides, and device provisioning procedures. • Track and assess equipment repair rates to ensure fielded equipment is meeting durability expectations. What you will need: • BS in a technical, engineering discipline. • 2+ years systems engineering or hardware administration. • Familiarity with evaluating and testing hardware devices such as laptops, mobile computers, Bluetooth headsets, and Bluetooth barcode scanners. • Experience working with hardware vendors to troubleshoot hardware and infrastructure issues. • Experience with Android Operating Systems • Experience with Wi-Fi, wireless network troubleshooting and design. • Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, RFID, NFC, vision, augmented/mixed reality. • Strong problem solving and analytical skills. • Availability to occasionally travel domestically. • Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Effective organizational skills and ability to be attentive to details. Nice to have: • Experience working with equipment designed for industrial use – such as mobile devices from industrial device manufacturers like Zebra Technologies and Honeywell.
