								<description>Wexford, Pennsylvania,  Lucas Systems has an opportunity for a skilled Systems Engineer  to assist with hardware-related initiatives, including identifying, testing, and supporting 3rd party hardware, infrastructure administration, and researching the use of new hardware-based platforms and technologies that will add value to Lucas&#8217;s solutions. 
 What you will do: 
 &#8226; Assist in improving Lucas&#8217;s hardware evaluation and certification processes to insure 3rd party hardware (mobile devices, headsets, barcode scanners, smart watches, smart glasses, etc.) included with Lucas solutions performs as required. &#8226; As required, lead or assist Lucas&#8217; Customer Support Team in investigating/troubleshooting when hardware issues are reported from the field. &#8226; Research state-of-the-art hardware and technologies which can be leveraged in Lucas solutions, and develop proof-of-concepts and business cases around them. &#8226; Handle internal and external questions about Lucas&#8217; hardware options. &#8226; Identify and resolve hardware issues with laptops, servers, printers, wireless accessories, smartphones, tablets and rugged handheld devices. &#8226; Assist in the creation and ongoing updates of Lucas&#8217;s product and R&#38;D roadmaps. &#8226; Develop and maintain hardware-related documentation, such as certification procedures and records, user guides, and device provisioning procedures. &#8226; Track and assess equipment repair rates to ensure fielded equipment is meeting durability expectations. What you will need: 
 &#8226; BS in a technical, engineering discipline. &#8226; 2+ years systems engineering or hardware administration. &#8226; Familiarity with evaluating and testing hardware devices such as laptops, mobile computers, Bluetooth headsets, and Bluetooth barcode scanners. &#8226; Experience working with hardware vendors to troubleshoot hardware and infrastructure issues. &#8226; Experience with Android Operating Systems &#8226; Experience with Wi-Fi, wireless network troubleshooting and design. &#8226; Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, RFID, NFC, vision, augmented/mixed reality. &#8226; Strong problem solving and analytical skills. &#8226; Availability to occasionally travel domestically. &#8226; Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems. &#8226; Excellent verbal and written communication skills. &#8226; Effective organizational skills and ability to be attentive to details. 
 Nice to have: 
 &#8226; Experience working with equipment designed for industrial use &#8211; such as mobile devices from industrial device manufacturers like Zebra Technologies and Honeywell.</description>
